Travel into the heart of Australia on a Kings Canyon day trip from Ayers Rock. Your journey takes you to a classic outback cattle station at Kings Creek Station and reveals the amazing landscape of Kings Canyon. For tremendous views over the immense chasm, explore the canyon’s steep cliffs on the Rim Walk or follow an easier route along the canyon’s floor on the Creek Bed Walk. At the end of the tour, you have the option to return to Ayers Rock or continue to Alice Springs.

Departure times & locations
The tour departs daily at 4.00am (Oct-Mar) and 4.30am (Apr-Sep) from Ayers Rock Resort. Hotel pickup is offered. You will be collected from the hotel you have selected in the drop down list during the booking process.
Returns: 5.00pm (Oct-Mar) and 5.30pm (Apr-Sep) to Ayers Rock Resort. Tour returns 7.00pm (Oct-Mar) and 7.30pm (Apr-Sep) in Alice Springs.
Your day at a glance:
• Depart early this morning for the drive to Kings Canyon
• Stop for a cooked breakfast at Kings Creek Station
• For the more adventurous, join your Guide for a hike to the top of Kings Canyon and 6 kms walk along the Rim – learn about the history and geology of the region as well as the flora and fauna found in the area
• Visit the Garden of Eden – a permanent water source in the George Gill Range (swimming not permitted) and enjoy spectacular views across Watarrka National Park and into the Canyon itself
• Or take the leisurely Creek Bed Walk with your Driver Guide. Learn about the history and geology of the area, and the local flora and fauna including the MacDonnell Ranges Cycad
• If choosing the Creek Bed Walk there’s time for a scenic helicopter flight (own expense) or a cool off in the pool at Kings Canyon Resort
• Time out for lunch at Kings Canyon Resort (own expense)
• On the return journey, your Driver Guide will explain the history of the surrounding cattle stations and other points of interest
Travelling with children
Children of all ages are welcome & must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged up to 15 years may pay the child price. Infants must sit on laps.

- Water bottle to hold 3 litres for the Rim Walk or 1.5 litres for the Creek Bed Walk
- Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen
- Flynet in summer months (optional)
- Comfortable protective clothing
- Warm layers in cooler months
Addtional Info
- Not wheelchair accessible
- A minimum of 3 litres of water is required for those participating in the 6km Rim Walk. The supplier will provide water, you just need to bring your own water bottles!
- Good level of fitness required for the 3 hour canyon Rim Walk
- Low to moderate level of fitness required for the canyon Creek Bed Walk
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 50 travelers
Booking Info
During the booking process you will be required to choose your hotel pick-up details. If your hotel does not appear in the drop down list the supplier does not pick-up from your hotel and you will be required to contact the supplier to arrange a suitable alternative.
If you wish to change your pick-up location from the one selected, you must call the operator at least 24 hrs prior to travel.
